Student Destinations & Alumni

There comes a time when our older students have to make choices and lay the foundations of their further studies, training and early careers. We are so proud that we have supported the growth and development of our pupils, to enable them to train professionally with in the performing arts industry.

Amber Glover 

Amber (was Greening) joined us as a baby dancer and she's stayed with us teaching in-between her training and professional work. She trained professionally at Urdang (2008-2011) and qualified with a Diploma in Professional Dance (Distinction standard). She has had many exciting performance opportunities including dancing at the Jingle Bell Ball in 2010. Amber then joined the Jean Ann Ryan production company, as a dancer on the Regent Seas Seas Voyager in 2011 -2012 cruising the world. Amber appeared in Cinderella panto at the Kings theatre Glasgow 2012 - 2013, toured Europe in 2013 -2014 in Musical Starnights, appeared in Jo Malone Christmas commercial 2017,toured Europe again with the Andrew Lloyd Webber Gala 2017 - 2018. Amber continues to teach at JI and our pupils adore her. 


Callie Hamilton

Having graduated from the Brighton Academy, she is now teaching dance at two primary schools and attending auditions.


Carly Bilson

Entertainment & Activities Manager at Away Resorts. Her sister Georgia works as Assistant Entertainments Manager at Golden Sands holiday company.


Carli Gaunt

Carly (was Johnson) is resident choreographer and principal dancer at Tempest Rose and House of Burlesque Ltd. 


Emma Van Burren

Emma is now training for a degree in Circus Arts at the National Centre for Circus Arts.



Hannah Bassett

Hannah joined the JI Family when she was very young. She then trained professionally at the Performers College, completing a foundation course and was then also offered the 3 year course at Masters performing arts School with some funding, however she chose to go down a different route. We are super lucky to have her teaching for our school. 


Hayley Wheeler

Hayley joined us as a baby dancer and has trained professionally. She trained at the Arts Education School London and Italia Conti Theatre Arts London, being awarded the Andrew Sargeant scholarship. Her performances and appearances include: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium),Scrooge (London Palladium),Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin with Qdos Pantomimes (Beck Theatre),Downton Abbey (series 1),Gambit (Film), Harrods Christmas parade dancer. Her further training and qualifications in Acrobatic Arts teaching and Alexa Flexibility. As well as teaching at JI, she is involved with supporting the production team of the Star Players. Hayley organises our annual Summer School, which our pupils get so much from. 


Jamie Cruttenden

Jamie has just finished appearing in My Fair Lady at the London Coliseum and he is now going on tour with the production.


Kerry Norton 

Is an actress and singer who has appeared on the West End Stage and on T.V. She now lives abroad with her husband the actor Jamie Bamber. Her recent work includes taking on the role of 'Edie Wallach' in an American TV show called Angelyne starring Emmy Rossum. Kerry has also recently founded a production company with her husband.


Laura Taylor

Laura completed her 3 year training at The Brighton Academy and she has graduated with a 1st Class degree in Musical Theatre - we are so incredibly proud of her. This year has brought her many exciting opportunities including performing for multiple Agents and Casting Directors, and as a result she has just signed with her first professional Agent (now represented by McCarthy Graham Management).  Another achievement for Laura this year was the completion of her DDI modern teaching qualification, and her Swing training. Possibly the most exciting, this year saw her first professional performance on a West End Stage and her first job offer with a professional touring company. Laura has just finished her role Disney Land Paris, where she was part of their entertainment team and played one of the characters.


Lee Devall

At the Royal Academy of Dance with the role of Masters of Arts Education: Dance Teaching programme manager. He has also been a Dance & Performing Arts standards verifier for BTEC courses within education and extended responsibilities include being a Q-TAG reviewer and creative support advisor. He is also now on the Executive Committee for the Society of Dance.


Louise Gibb

Has a residency at a venue in Covent Garden as a mirror ball and aerial hoop artist. She still performs aerial skills for corporate events and is performing in Belgium next month.


Marc Dodi

Is Head of Curriculum for Creative & Digital Studies at Newham 6th Form College.


Paula Trott

She trained at the London School of Musical Theatre. Recently, Paula has been touring in with Le Gateau Chocolat's Duckie. Other credits include roles in Illyria Theatre's Doctor Doolittlte and principal puppeteer in In The Night Garden.


Rebecca Lacey

Rebecca graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, with a 1st Class Honours. Since graduating she has secured amazing opportunities. Most recently she has been touring the UK and Middle East with a theatre adaptation of world famous children's book Dear Zoo. She also recently worked with producer and director Hugh Wooldridge in a variety of concerts and cabaret performances, the most notable being a one night only performance sharing the stage and performing with West End royalty, Kerry Ellis. This Christmas, Rebecca is looking forward to starring in a pantomime, details to be announced soon!


Roisin Fahey

She graduated from ALRA in 2018 with BA Hons in Acting. She is currently in the cast of 'The Play that Goes Wrong' at the Duchess Theatre in Covent Garden and understudy for one of the female lead roles.


Ross Dawes

He has appeared in numerous West End musicals including understudying the lead part of Mr. Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Willie Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing these parts on many occasions. He also has his own theatrical agency entitled 'Mr. Management'. Ross is currently appearing in Bonnie & Clyde.


Stuart Dawes

One of the Principals at The Brighton Academy. He also has appeared in many West End shows such as: Jersey Boys, We Will Rock You, Spamalot & Fame, just to name a few. He is also involved with running of the talent agency Ride Personal Management.
